Oklahoma City Utilities will implement new bulky waste collection schedules starting March 1, affecting about 64,000 customers in the central corridor and neighborhoods north of 122nd Street. Customers can check changes using a color-coded interactive map at okc.gov/mytrashday, and those with new schedules will receive postcards for March through May in late January, as reported by the City of Oklahoma City.
The route updates aim to balance daily landfill loads and improve service efficiency as the city grows. "Improving route efficiency also enhances safety by ensuring trucks are out of neighborhoods before peak traffic times," the City of Oklahoma City said in a social media post.
According to the City of Oklahoma City on their Facebook page, residents in the designated areas should check the new bulky waste collection dates online or on the postcard sent by the City. Items must be placed at the curb no earlier than 6 a.m. on collection day and within three days of the scheduled date. The schedule runs in three-day blocks, starting the first Monday and Wednesday of each month. For more information, visit okc.gov/mytrashday or okc.gov/bulky.
