An Orlando man, 44, lost his life in an e-bike incident late last night after a collision with a sedan driven by a 40-year-old Orlando man, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident took place at the intersection of Oak Ridge Road and Harcourt Avenue. WESH details that the event unfolded at approximately 10:27 p.m. according to their coverage.
Traveling eastbound, the sedan hit the victim, who was across the crosswalk on an electric bike. As the Florida Highway Patrol mentions, the e-bike rider was then rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center. His journey ended tragically, as he was declared deceased there, according to FOX 35 Orlando.
The driver of the Kia Optima involved in the collision reportedly stayed at the scene following the incident and was unharmed, FHP officials state. Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
