A security guard at an Osceola County juvenile detention center has been charged with child abuse after an alleged altercation with a teenager. As reported by ClickOrlando, the incident, which led to the juvenile receiving stitches for a head injury, took place at the Kissimmee Youth Academy.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office identified the guard as 32-year-old Charles-Edouard Jeune, who was arrested on felony charges including child abuse, aggravated child abuse, and battery on a prisoner causing great bodily harm. According to the details provided by deputies, the incident occurred last Wednesday, with Jeune turning himself in on a later date.
After conducting interviews with potential witnesses and those involved, detectives apprehended Jeune, who surrendered at the sheriff’s office and subsequently was taken into custody without further incident. The academy is described as a medium-security level program that operates under the purview of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.
