In response to the chilling weather forecast in Pasco County, Florida, local authorities have taken steps to ensure that residents without adequate heating can find refuge from the cold. In a recent announcement posted on social media, the Pasco County Government confirmed that additional cold weather shelters would be made available to the public on several more nights, specifically on today as well as on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
Those seeking a warm haven can visit either of two designated shelters: Shady Hills Mission Chapel, located at 15925 Greenglen Lane, Spring Hill, and the First Nazarene Church of Zephyrhills at 6151 12th Street, Zephyrhills. Pasco County Government stated that these facilities will welcome individuals each day from 6 p.m. and remain open until 10 a.m. the following morning.
Children, the elderly, and pets are especially at risk from the cold. Opening additional shelters helps protect these vulnerable groups and others affected by the temperature drop.
