Bel Air residents faced an afternoon of tension as law enforcement dealt with a barricade situation earlier yesterday on Sablewood Road. According to Fox Baltimore, the Harford County Sheriff's Office arrived at an apartment complex to investigate a report of suspicious activities, when they encountered a potentially armed individual who then barricaded himself inside his residence.
As the situation unfolded, the Sheriff's Office advised the public to stay away from the area, nearly an hour passed the suspect relinquished, choosing to exit his apartment and was promptly detained by the authorities, during the investigation, a potentially armed resident barricaded himself inside, according to the sheriff's office, it was a tense moment that ended without violence, thanks to the negotiated efforts that brought the standoff to a peaceful conclusion.
According to WMAR-2 News, the situation was resolved peacefully, the sheriff's office said, noting that the suspect is now in custody with charges pending.
