A tragic early morning accident has claimed the life of a pedestrian on the city's east side, as confirmed by the Columbus Police. The incident occurred around 4:35 a.m. near the intersection of East Broad Street and Reynolds Crossing Drive, where an adult pedestrian was fatally struck by a westbound black BMW X3. Despite the pedestrian's attempt to cross, reports by ABC6 On Your Side indicated that the BMW had a green light at the moment of the collision.
Following the impact, the pedestrian was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the individual later succumbed to their injuries. The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit has been investigating the circumstances of the crash and has requested that anyone with information please come forward. According to 10TV, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and sustained no injuries.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released to the public as the investigation proceeds.
