A fatal incident took place last Friday night after a pedestrian died during a crash at the crossroads of East Sahara Avenue and Santa Clara Drive.
As KTNV reports, around 11:57 p.m., a Kia Sportage, heading east on East Sahara Avenue, neared Santa Clara when a pedestrian, who walked outside a marked crosswalk, ventured into the road. Struck by the vehicle, medical crews quickly responded to administer life-saving procedures, but their efforts ended in a pronounced death.
The News3LV account denotes that the person, a 67-year-old man, was struck on his left side. His body was projected northeast onto the road's unforgiving surface. A physician from Sunrise Hospital, arriving to render aid amidst the emergency, officially declared the man's cease.
Post-accident, the occupants of the Kia remained on site, cooperating with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Showing no signs of impairment, they now wait, as the crash is still under investigation by the police department's Collision Investigation Section. The names of those involved have yet to be released.
