Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, together with the City of Philadelphia, lifted spirits high as they hosted a milestone outdoor concert and fireworks celebration on the historical stretches of Benjamin Franklin Parkway. According to a press release on the city's official website, the event, notable for being the first of its kind, was entirely free to the public.
Doors opened at 6:00 p.m., kicking off an evening of festivities as crowds gathered for a highly anticipated show. The lineup blended familiar favorites with fresh talent, led by headliner LL COOL J, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and two-time GRAMMY Award winner. He was joined by DJ Jazzy Jeff, Adam Blackstone, Dorothy, and Technician the DJ.
The concert began at 8:00 p.m. As midnight approached, the celebration culminated in a fireworks display that lit up the Philadelphia skyline. Mayor Parker and city officials praised the event’s turnout and success.
