A Portland mother has been ordered to spend more than a decade in prison for a 2024 drunk-driving crash that killed her 4-year-old son.

Angelina Minor, 29, was sentenced Friday to 125 months in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the death of her son, Kingston Coston. A Multnomah County judge imposed the sentence on Friday, Jan. 23, according to KATU. Court records show her sentencing had been pushed into early 2026 because she was pregnant.

Crash, Charges and Case Timeline

The case traces back to March 2024, when police say Minor was involved in an initial crash, fled that scene, then crossed a median into oncoming traffic before a head-on collision near North Fessenden Street and North Mohawk Avenue. Bystanders performed CPR on Kingston at the scene, but he later died at a hospital, KPTV reported.

Court documents cited an estimated blood-alcohol content of about 0.38, more than four times the legal limit. Prosecutors say Minor ultimately faced multiple counts, including manslaughter, DUII and reckless endangerment.

Warrant, Surrender and Supervised Release

Authorities say Minor later violated the terms of her supervised release in December 2025, which led to a felony warrant for her arrest. She eventually surrendered and was booked in early January, according to a release from the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office. Before that surrender, the DA's office had gone public asking for help to find her.

Legal Context

Under Oregon law, manslaughter in the first degree is a Class A felony, as set out in ORS 163.118. Measure 11 establishes a 120-month mandatory minimum for that crime under ORS 137.700. Minor's 125-month sentence edges past that minimum.

In the weeks after the crash, Kingston's death brought neighbors and loved ones together for a vigil and spurred a GoFundMe to support the family. Relatives described him as a joyful, Spider-Man-loving boy whose absence has left a deep hole in their lives, KPTV reported. Authorities said other people in the vehicles were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
