Puget Sound Fire celebrated several promotions during a badge pinning ceremony last night, as announced on the department’s social media channels. The ceremony honored one newly promoted Division Chief, five Captains, and six Engineers.
According to Puget Sound Fire's Post, The event opened with the honor guard posting the colors and the Pledge of Allegiance. Fire Chief Mark Jones recognized Kristen Rodal as the new Recruiter and Nancy Reynolds as FD CARES Program Manager. Chief Jones then administered the oath of office to Division Chief Zac Dean, Captains Mike Hawkins, Garrett James, Madeline Dailey, Meade Scarduzio, and Charles Aguilar, and Engineers Cian Portugal, Ali Hutchinson, Musa Jagana, Aaron Fink, Zachary Walsh, and Seth Tobey.
The ceremony concluded with a traditional bell ceremony, symbolically ringing the newly promoted members into their roles. The department plans to share more details about their responsibilities in the coming weeks.
The social media post included community hashtags such as #LoveTheCov and #WeAreKent, highlighting Puget Sound Fire’s connection to the areas it serves, including Covington, Kent, SeaTac, Tukwila, Maple Valley, and King County.
