
Raleigh will host a global drumming showcase on January 24 at the Five Points Center for Active Adults. The free event, running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature percussion styles from Japan, Senegal, Puerto Rico, and other countries.
Local food trucks will be on-site to provide refreshments, including Levy’s Jerkstand and Bulkogi Korean BBQ. Hands-on crafts will also be available, giving attendees opportunities to engage and participate.
Featured performances will include Peaceful Forest, presenting Japanese ensemble drumming, and Diali Cissokho, performing traditional Senegalese rhythms. The Broughton High School Winter Drumline will highlight local talent with coordinated percussion routines. Tambor y Alma and Triangle Taiko will also perform.
