Raleigh Water customers, managing your water bills just got a streamlined upgrade. A new digital portal, dubbed Raleigh Water Self-Service, went live recently, promising to simplify how you track service requests, pay bills, and keep tabs on multiple accounts. According to the City of Raleigh official announcement, the portal is accessible from any device and heralds the return of late fees and service disconnections for non-payment starting March 2.
Time to mark your calendars; those late fees and disconnections for non-payment will once again become a reality come early March. However, with the new portal now in operation, paying your bill couldn't be easier. You can make one-time payments without having to create an account, but it might be in your interest to register and manage your payment preferences. Particularly for AutoPay users who need to re-enroll in the new system to avoid potential service interruptions, as pointed out in the City of Raleigh's official update.
The process is straightforward: have your account number, ZIP code, email address, and mobile phone on hand for a swift registration. And for anyone using their bank's bill-pay service, no action is necessary, your payments will continue as usual. AutoPay customers, however, must re-enroll in the new system so make sure to do so before the next due date. If you've missed payments and are worried about the upcoming late fees, now is the time to check your balance and consider assistance options, such as a payment plan, as suggested by Raleigh Water.
In addition to online payment options, Raleigh Water accepts payments by mail and in person at the downtown Raleigh office and select community town halls. Payments can also be made at participating Walmart locations. Customers who need help using the new system can email [email protected] or attend in-person assistance sessions scheduled throughout January and February, according to Raleigh Water.
