Raleigh residents traveling along Glenwood Avenue should prepare for a temporary detour as city crews carry out repairs to the sewer collection system. The City of Raleigh announced on its official Facebook page that the work is expected to be completed by noon on Saturday, weather permitting. Officials also stated that there will be no interruptions to water service during the project.
The 1900 block of Glenwood Avenue will be fully closed starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, January 5, through Saturday, January 10. The closure is necessary to allow crews to work safely in the area, with cones and equipment set up throughout the block. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and follow posted signs during the construction period.
The city advised motorists to remain alert and watch for crews while traveling near the area. Once the repairs are finished, the roadway is expected to reopen and traffic flow to return to normal.
