In a recent enforcement effort within the Anatolia community, the Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) Motor Unit stopped a juvenile riding a dirt bike. Officers observed the rider impeding traffic by riding in the middle of the road and running multiple stop signals, including across a major thoroughfare.
According to a post on their official Facebook page, the motorcycle also had another juvenile passenger who was not wearing a helmet. After the traffic violations were addressed, the driver was cited, and the motorcycle was towed.
Highlighting the dangers of reckless riding, the social media update from RCPD admonished community members, saying, "Remember, it does not matter whether you are an adult or juvenile, when operating a motor vehicle or motorized cycle, you must abide by all rules of the roadway." It emphasized that failing to properly do so not only results in "hefty penalties," but also "significantly endangers the safety of the vehicle operator and the community."
