The driver was also found in possession of methamphetamine, connecting her to local mail thefts. The incident led to her arrest and an ongoing investigation by Rancho Cordova Police Department.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for theft, fraud, and drug possession, and her vehicle was towed. According to the Rancho Cordova Police Department on their Facebook page, RCPD, along with USPIS detectives, is investigating the case and contacting victims. The department said, "RCPD takes identity and mail theft very seriously and will continue to use technology and collaborative investigations with USPIS and allied law enforcement agencies to help discourage this crime from taking place in our community!"
