Ray Wright, a former Rocklin resident, disappeared on January 11, 2018. Two men have been convicted of his murder and sentenced to life without parole. The Rocklin Police Department is asking the public for any information to help locate his remains.
The trial of Robert Manor and Victor Merle Gray revealed details of the plan that led to Wright's murder. The Sacramento County District Attorney's Office reported that the motive came from a long-standing grudge against Wright for a 2011 DUI crash that seriously injured Manor and his wife. Manor then asked Gray to help kidnap and kill Wright. Both were found guilty by a jury on March 17, 2023.
Wright's personal items were found in Gray's possession after a high-speed chase and crash, and a letter linked Manor to the kidnapping and murder. Wright's body has not been located, and authorities continue to ask the public for any information. "Another year has passed, and the Wright family has had to live without answers, without knowing Ray’s final resting place. They deserve peace," according to the Rocklin Police Department on their Facebook page.
