Rohnert Park authorities have apprehended David Griffin Giovannini, 37, on charges of possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), following a coordinated effort by local police and cybercrime specialists. The arrest occurred yesterday after an investigation triggered by a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which was channeled through the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force back in August 2025.
Upon receiving the tip, detectives from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) sought to quickly identify the suspect, who was found to be Rohnert Park resident Giovannini. To thoroughly investigate the allegations, detectives served multiple search warrants on various electronic service providers associated with Giovannini's accounts. This proactive approach led to the issuance of a Ramey Warrant on Tuesday and, ultimately, to the discovery of CSAM on multiple electronic devices at Giovannini's home.
Giovannini was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility, with his bail set at $30,000, as per violation of California Penal Code § 311.11(a)(1). They expressed that they will continue to aggressively pursue individuals involved in the exploitation of children and extend their efforts to work together with partners to guarantee community safety.
