A fire, spurred by a downed power line, engulfed a home in Rutherford County, leading to the closure of Seminary Road near West Sagefield Drive. The incident transpired yesterday afternoon just before 1 p.m., drawing a rapid response from local emergency services. According to a WSMV report, the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the fire spread to the nearby residence after the power line fell to the ground and sparked flames.
During the emergency, both the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and Smyrna Police Department worked to restrict access to Seminary Road and West Sagefield Drive, as reported by Rutherford Source. They aimed to manage the scene as firefighters battled the house fire and as Middle Tennessee Electric's (MTE) crews worked to secure the hazardous live electrical lines. "Please be patient while firefighters extinguish the fire and MTE repairs the line," RUCO stated in a Facebook post.
Additional support was provided by the Almaville Volunteer Fire Rescue Department, which, according to Captain Tracie Parra in an interview with WGNS Radio, deployed three apparatus to tackle the fire that swiftly consumed the structure.
