The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District recognized Truck 50 and Medic 633 for their lifesaving efforts on March 22, 2025, when they resuscitated a 78-year-old man in cardiac arrest due to Ventricular Tachycardia. Using advanced life support measures, including chest compressions, defibrillation, and multiple synchronized cardioversions during transport, they successfully restored his heartbeat and preserved his cognitive functions, as reported by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
"The man saved was the cherished patriarch of a large family," and the response by Truck 50 and Medic 633 gave his family additional time with him, as stated by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. The department acknowledged the crews for their work in providing life-saving care.
"This decisive, high-level care not only regained pulses for the transport but maximized the patient’s recovery with no neurological deficits," according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District on their Facebook page. The man was able to spend about six more months with his family. The crews of Truck 50 and Medic 633 were congratulated by the department for their work.
