
The Salisbury Police Department has recently announced a significant promotion within its ranks. Lieutenant Travis Shulenburger has been elevated to the rank of Major, a position that will see him taking command of the Criminal Investigations Division. Noted for his significant contributions to the department, Shulenburger's promotion is a reflection of his dedicated service and leadership skills.
According to a recent social media post by the Salisbury Police Department, Major Shulenburger is a seasoned member of the force, having begun his law enforcement career back in 2004. He quickly rose through the ranks, credited with to significantly improve the structure and outcomes of the Criminal Investigations Division.
A local graduate, Shulenburger's education includes a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, complementing his extensive practical experience. His tenure has included roles from Patrol Division, as a Field Training Officer, and leadership positions within the Special Response Team.
"Major Shulenburger brings deep institutional knowledge, proven leadership, and extensive investigative experience to this role," Salisbury Police Chief P.J. Smith shared. "His work in building and leading our Criminal Investigations Division has had a lasting impact on this department and the community we serve."
