Travelers in San Antonio have a cause for celebration as Breeze Airways announces the return of nonstop flights from San Antonio International Airport (SAT) to a trifecta of destinations, with service taking off in early May and June. The low-cost carrier, known for shaking up air travel with affordable fares, is offering direct routes to Raleigh-Durham (RDU), Memphis (MEM), and Pensacola (PNS), with ticket prices that are likely to make wallets breathe a sigh of relief.
According to the City of San Antonio news release, starting May 7, 2026, Breeze will connect San Antonio with Raleigh-Durham on Thursdays and Sundays throughout the year. On May 8, the carrier will bridge SAT to Memphis every Monday and Friday without pause. And come June 10, the airline will introduce a summer seasonal service to Pensacola on Wednesdays and Saturdays, poised to cater to the vacation crowd.
The expansion doesn't stop at direct flights. Additional connectivity is on the table with one-stop, no-change-of-plane BreezeThru service. Beginning May 8, passengers can fly from San Antonio to Raleigh-Durham via Memphis on Mondays and Fridays. Starting June 10, the airline will facilitate travel from San Antonio to Tampa using the same convenient BreezeThru service from Pensacola, available on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the summer months.
"With these new routes, passengers traveling from SAT have more convenient options than ever to connect with new destinations for business or leisure," said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, City of San Antonio Aviation Department, underscoring the commitment to expand travel for the region. Breeze's A220-300 fleet promises a modern flight experience with amenities akin to spacious seats and in-flight entertainment, touting Wi-Fi on select aircraft, alongside in-seat power and connectivity, according to the same news release.
David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, expressed excitement about reconnecting with the San Antonio market. "We’re excited to return to San Antonio with four great routes that we know new and returning guests will enjoy," Neeleman said, emphasizing the dual benefit of the routes in enabling more travelers to visit historic San Antonio. Breeze positions itself as a carrier that enables enriched connections through travel, and with these competitively priced flights, starting as low as $49 to Memphis and Pensacola, and $79 to Raleigh-Durham, the airline reinforces its commitment to accessible air travel.
