The CENCAL Fire and EMS Authority Board of Directors has approved a contract to provide emergency ambulance response and transport for Stockton, Lodi, Mountain House, Tracy, and surrounding areas. This partnership aims to improve response times and system coordination by contracting American Medical Response to operate the ambulances while ensuring governance and compliance, as reported by the Lodi Fire Department.
The agreement was forged between the City of Stockton, the City of Lodi, and the South San Joaquin County Fire Authority. The public-private partnership focuses on better on-scene collaboration, enhanced joint dispatch, and additional ambulance deployments to strengthen emergency medical services, as stated by the Lodi Fire Department.
San Joaquin County will expand emergency medical services with a new ambulance contract with CENCAL Fire and EMS Authority, covering Stockton, Lodi, and nearby areas, according to the Lodi Fire Department on their Facebook page. The agreement follows over four years of planning. The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors will review the contract within 30 to 60 days. If approved, CENCAL and AMR will begin regional ambulance operations on May 1, with updated dispatch and field response coordination.
