Police and family are asking for the public's help to find 12-year-old Journey Barcai of Wailuku, who was reported missing on Wednesday after she was last seen at a Makawao school at about 11:30 a.m. She is described as about 4 feet 10 inches tall and around 80 pounds, with auburn hair and brown eyes. Authorities say Barcai was wearing a red long-sleeve shirt and ripped blue jeans when she was last seen, and that she does not have a cell phone or access to a vehicle.
According to Maui Now, the Maui Police Department says Barcai was reported missing on Wednesday by a concerned acquaintance, and investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward. The alert notes that she is known to frequent the Kahului area around the Queen Kaʻahumanu Shopping Center, which police say could help focus potential sightings.
