The Seattle Police Department is requesting the public's help to identify two suspects linked to a fatal stabbing that took place last year. The crime occurred around 4:00 a.m. on June 22, 2025, in an alley on Northeast 50th Street, just east of University Way Northeast, according to SPD Blotter.
The victim, identified as Fernando Castillo, was able to walk half a block after being stabbed, only to collapse on the 4700 block of University Way Northeast. Emergency response teams tried to save him, however, he was pronounced dead after arriving at Harborview Medical Center, the Seattle Police Department reports.
Details of the stabbing were initially released in a post on June 22, 2025, when patrol officers found Castillo with critical injuries, and the Seattle Fire Department provided on-scene medical treatment. The King County Medical Examiner's Office has since taken custody of the body to determine the official cause and manner of death. The police had closed off the area for investigation, which is still ongoing, as stated by the SPD Blotter.
Authorities are currently reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence to locate those responsible for the stabbing. The Seattle Police Department is confident that community assistance could play a crucial role in solving the case, with calls to the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line being encouraged. The department is accepting anonymous tips at 206-233-5000, as they work to resolve the tragic incident that took a member of the community far too soon.
