
A violent altercation on New Year's Day in Shaler Township left one woman hospitalized and another facing serious charges. According to Allegheny County Police, the distress call came at approximately 2:18 p.m. Dispatched to the 200 block of Hugel Drive, officers located a woman with multiple stab wounds. As reported by WPXI, she was promptly transported to the hospital, where her condition was deemed stable.
The investigation promptly unfolded, revealing that the stabbing transpired from a dispute between the victim and 38-year-old Shannon Marie Jennings. Detained shortly after the assault, Jennings, residing in Shaler, has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment, as noted by WTAE. Officials placed her in custody in the Allegheny County Jail.
According to court documents obtained by WPXI, Jennings asserted that, preceding the attack, the other woman had forced entry into her apartment and assaulted her.
