
Auburn Hills, Michigan, experienced a concerning episode of gun violence on Wednesday, when a parked vehicle was targeted by gunfire. The incident, which occurred around 12:40 p.m. near Barrington Square and Squirrel Road, prompted a response from local law enforcement. According to CBS News Detroit, the Auburn Hills Police Department assured that although the parked vehicle was hit, no injuries were reported from the incident.
Details provided by local authorities indicate that a dark-colored sport utility vehicle was seen leaving the scene shortly after the gunshots were heard. The nature of the act, believed by police to be "targeted and isolated," has yet to yield any suspects, despite the concerning daylight shootout. As per the Auburn Hills Police Department's social media post, there were no injuries, and they have confirmed that there is "no ongoing threat to the public at this time."
The event also prompted Oakland University to issue a campus-wide alert. The university, positioned in proximity to where the shots were fired, sent out a notification to students and faculty.
