In South Milwaukee, a call to action has been extended for local residents with a vision. The city's official social media page has just announced an extension of the deadline for those looking to submit their video pitches for the Space Race initiative. With seven submissions already in, the city is eager to see more creative proposals from the community.
The initial deadline, which was slated for today, has now been pushed to Monday, January 12, at 11:59 PM. This extension offers extra time for perfectionists and procrastinators alike to refine their visual appeals and articulate their innovative solutions for the town's revamp. “Due to popular demand, we’re giving you more time to polish your video pitch,” posted the City of South Milwaukee on its Facebook page. And for those who've acted promptly, the city confirms that there's an opportunity to revise and resubmit their initial proposals if desired.
To assist participants in crafting compelling pitches, South Milwaukee has made resources readily available online. Since December 18, entrants could access tips and guidelines at renewtowns.org, establishing a support system designed to fuel the competition's innovative engine. The website also hosts the submission portal, where all pitches are to be directed.
The project, dubbed the "Space Race," is enveloped in a broader effort to rejuvenate South Milwaukee's urban spaces. The announcement echoes a palpable excitement: “We’re excited to see your ideas and appreciate the incredible energy you’ve brought to the Space Race so far 🚀”. As of its release, it's clear that the city values the input of its residents and is committed to cultivating a collaborative atmosphere in its developmental endeavors. This initiative is not simply a competition, but a collective stride towards a reimagined community, according to the City of South Milwaukee.
