Chicago police and relatives are urgently asking for the public’s help to find 12-year-old Jeremiah Pugh, who was reported missing from the South Side earlier this week. He was last seen on Jan. 21 near the 7200 block of South Lowe Avenue in Englewood, and investigators say every minute that passes makes the search more critical.
Jeremiah is described as 5-foot-4 and about 120 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a dark complexion. When he disappeared, he was wearing a black jacket and gray jogging pants with two white stripes down each leg.
Police Zero In On Last Known Location
According to FOX 32 Chicago, Jeremiah was reported missing from the 7200 block of South Lowe Avenue and was last seen there on Jan. 21. Chicago police are asking anyone who may have seen him in that area, or who has security or doorbell camera footage from around that time, to come forward. Area 1 detectives are handling the case.
Why The First Hours Matter
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention notes that the first 24 to 48 hours after a child goes missing are the most critical for gathering leads and preserving evidence. That early window can shape an entire investigation, which is why authorities push so hard for immediate tips and fast-moving searches.
How To Help
Anyone with information about Jeremiah’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Area 1 Special Victims Unit detective office at 312-747-8380 or call 911, per FOX 32 Chicago.
