
An early Wednesday crash on Chicago’s South Side left two teenagers clinging to life after a reported stolen car slammed into a viaduct, according to police. The wreck happened at about 1:18 a.m. in the 3500-block of West Marquette Road, and both teens were taken to Advocate Christ Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition.
What Police Say
According to ABC7 Chicago, Chicago police said a silver sedan that had been reported stolen struck a viaduct in the 3500-block of West Marquette Road at roughly 1:18 a.m. Officers transported the two teenagers to Advocate Christ Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition, police said. No other vehicles were involved and charges are pending.
Recent Crashes On Marquette Road
The same stretch of roadway has already seen another devastating crash this month. On Jan. 18, an SUV plowed into multiple homes in Park Manor along Marquette Road, killing an 18-year-old and leaving two others critically injured, as reported by NBC Chicago.
Investigation
Police have not released the identities of the injured teens or additional details about what led up to the crash. Investigators are handling the case and, per ABC7 Chicago, charges are pending. Officials said more information will be released when it becomes available.
