Gig Harbor just picked up a new spot for lingering over a glass. Spruce Hill Winery quietly slid open the doors to its Uptown tasting room on Friday, serving curated flights, by-the-glass pours and small-plate pairings in a compact, lounge-style space. Think comfy chairs, a big community table and rotating local art, all aimed at relaxed weekend crowds rather than rushed happy hours. Owners say the vibe is intentionally low-key and approachable, whether you are cracking open your first Washington bottle or brushing up on what you already love.
Spruce Hill lists the Gig Harbor address as 5229 Olympic Drive Suite B and notes the tasting room officially opened January 23, 2026, with hours Fridays 3–7 p.m., Saturdays noon–7 p.m. and Sundays noon–4 p.m. According to Spruce Hill Winery, the Gig Harbor room joins the brand’s SODO production and tasting site in Seattle and takes limited reservations for groups of five or more. The company also points out that the space can be booked for private gatherings and small-group classes.
Wines, Prices And Flights
Guests can order wine by the glass, with crisp whites and rosés starting at $12 and reds at $18, or opt for tasting flights that start at $20 per person. Current bottle prices run roughly between $20 and $38. On the pour list, a bright 2024 Albariño shares the spotlight with Rhône-inspired reds. As reported by Sip Magazine, the tasting room plans curated themed flights along with a build-your-own option for those who like to call their own shots.
Small Bites And Local Pairings
The wine is backed up by small charcuterie boards that lean into Washington-made meats and cheeses, with coverage of the opening singling out bites like salami and an aged goat gouda. Inside, there is a bar, cushy seating and a large community table meant to nudge strangers into conversation over a second glass. As detailed by The News Tribune, the room will also showcase rotating installations from the Peninsula Art League, so the walls will change as often as the flight list.
From SODO To Gig Harbor
Co-owners and winemakers Mark and Jo Bader first opened Spruce Hill’s SODO production and tasting site in Seattle in 2023 and are now stretching into the South Sound with the Gig Harbor outpost. As noted on Spruce Hill Winery, the winery partners with One Tree Planted and plants a tree for every bottle of Rainforest Red sold. The Baders say the new location is deliberately unpretentious and meant to feel welcoming for both first-timers and regulars who want a neighborhood-style wine hangout.
Events And What’s Next
Opening announcements outline a lineup that goes beyond standard pours: guided tastings, classes on winemaking and food-and-wine pairings, plus monthly artist receptions tied to the rotating art installations. An Eventbrite listing for the launch confirms the January 23 opening date and notes that the tasting room is family-friendly for daytime visits, making it less of a hush-hush wine temple and more of a casual community stop where kids can tag along while the adults work through a flight.
