
Big news in the world of golf, right here in North Florida: St. Johns County Golf Club is racking up the honors with two of its staff members swinging for the fences in terms of peer recognition, Wes Tucker, the club's Director, and Bea Mauricio, the Assistant Golf Professional, are making headlines after being awarded by the North Florida PGA for their standout roles in golfing—a solid drive for the sport in our region, according to the St. Johns County's press release.
Tucker, who's steering the golf cart at St. Johns, nailed a double win, taking home both the Section and Northern Chapter PGA awards for Golf Professional of the Year, which according to the North Florida PGA, stands tall as one of the PGA's top accolades, signifying a professional whose contributions to the game reach the high water mark, not to mention he's also bagged the Northern Chapter’s Merchandiser of the Year for the Public Category—no small feat considering the competition.
Meanwhile, Mauricio isn't just on par with her colleagues, but leading the charge, being awarded the Northern Chapter's PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year; her role at the club shows she's much more than just an assistant, with the PGA recognizing her notable contributions to the game, Tucker himself sang praises of his team, quoted from the St. Johns County's press release, "Being named Northern Chapter PGA Public Merchandiser of the Year is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire golf shop staff," acknowledging that the club’s trajectory is all about teamwork and commitment from his crew.
Tucker expressed gratitude and humility for being recognized by his peers, highlighting the support he receives from colleagues and staff at St. Johns Golf Club.
