As St. Louis faces a night with temperatures expected to drop to 20°F, the city has activated a Code Blue level 3 to support its homeless population. The City of St. Louis shared on a social media post that 350 emergency shelter beds will be available tonight to provide shelter during the cold conditions.

Three walk-up shelters are open in St. Louis: Peter & Paul – Jugan Shelter in North City for single men, single women, and families; Biddle Housing Opportunities Center in Central City for single men; and Peter & Paul – Kingshighway Shelter in South City for single men and women. These shelters accept walk-ins from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The city is providing transportation to shelters with pickups from 5 to 7 p.m. at designated locations, including the Urban League Women’s Business Center in North City, Centenary United Methodist Church in Central City, and Loughborough Commons Parking Lot in South City. These sites offer warming facilities and Metro Call-A-Ride shuttles staffed with a driver and an outreach worker to transport individuals to shelters. For other transportation needs, the United Way 211 Helpline can be contacted.
