Seniors and residents with disabilities in St. Peters now have an opportunity to receive help with lawn mowing, thanks to the city’s Lawn Mowing Assistance Program. As reported on the City of St. Peters official website, those who are at least 62 years old or have severe disabilities might be eligible for up to 10 lawn mowings between April 1 and Oct. 1.

Starting Feb. 2, applications for this assistance are accessible online, and interested parties should submit them by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13. To qualify, applicants need to meet certain income levels and guidelines. Proof of income is mandatory, and all household members must be at least 62 or have significant disabilities. For a one-person household, the income cap is $39,000, and this increases incrementally to $55,700 for an household of four.

Those wishing to apply can download an app from the program's webpage beginning Feb. 2. For an alternative method, applications can be mailed out upon request. This can be arranged by calling 636-279-8279 and selecting option 4, where applicants should provide their name, address, and a contact number.

Completed applications and necessary documents must make their way back to City Hall at One St. Peters Centre Blvd. before the Feb. 13 deadline. Emailing completed material is another avenue, via [email protected]. As the city has obtained Community Development Block Grant funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, applicants with the lowest income will receive priority, followed by the order in which applications were received.
