Residents in Stark County can breathe a bit easier tonight following the arrest made in connection with a string of armed robberies targeting local Dollar General stores. The Stark County Sheriff's Office took to its social media to share the news of the apprehension of Dyllan Riter, 28, linking him to the recent criminal activity at stores in Waynesburg and East Sparta.
This breakthrough was the result of a collaborative effort spanning multiple law enforcement entities. Alongside the Stark County Sheriff's Office were the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, New Philadelphia Police Department, and the weighty U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol lending a hand. Each agency played their part, weaving a net that would ultimately snare Riter, now charged with hefty offenses.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Riter now faces two counts of Aggravated Robbery and Child Endangering each, along with Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of a Police Officer and Theft. These charges are added to Riter's list as he is currently detained at Tuscarawas County Jail for unrelated charges. The Sheriff's Office emphasized that although an arrest has been made, their work is far from over, with the investigation carrying on.
