The Stark County Sheriff's Office is asking the community for assistance in locating missing 81-year-old David A. Shaffer. Shaffer, who is reported to have dementia, left his home located in the 3100 block of Glouchester Drive NE in Plain Township at around noon on January 29 and has since been unreachable.
Authorities are concerned for Shaffer's well-being as he is assumed to be without his needed medication. He was last seen driving a 2011 white GMC Acadia, bearing the Ohio license plate JVG6979. The Sheriff's Office shared an alert to the public via social media, hoping to widen the search effort and gather any helpful information from the community.
David Shaffer is described as a 6’2” tall man, weighing approximately 260 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. Notable is a small gray moustache on his face. His last known attire included a dark-colored jacket, a gray plaid flannel shirt, blue jeans, and brown boots. The Stark County Sheriff’s Office publicly shared Shaffer's description in hopes that individuals could aid in the search.
