Statesville Police Department’s Fill the Trailer Toy Drive collected over 8,000 toys this holiday season, providing gifts to more than 600 children from infants to teens, the department announced on social media.
Officers spent five Saturdays, from PumpkinFest to mid-December, collecting toys at the Statesville Walmart. "Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community," the Statesville Police Department's Post said, praising the support that made the drive a success.
The toy drive showcased the strong connection between the community and the police. Local children enjoyed the season’s joy thanks to support from residents and local businesses, including Walmart of Statesville.
