A Stockton woman is facing DUI charges after her vehicle surged into a Lathrop home on Sunday morning, causing extensive damage. Fox40 reports that Alexis Nicole Castellon, 28, allegedly drove under the influence, which culminated in the crash near Noel Street and Somoa Lane.
The call came in on a soggy Sunday morning, when Lathrop Police Department officers converged on the scene to kickstart an investigation, according to KCRA. A stroke of luck, or perhaps an odd grace – no residents were in the room where the vehicle came to halt, and by some miracle, no injuries were reported.
In a statement by the Lathrop Police Department, further details revealed the room's considerable wreckage, a stark testament to the ferocity of the crash. Photos shared by LPD exhibit a portion of the home's front brutally compromised.
Officers detained Castellon at the scene. Her driver’s license had been revoked, and she was on probation for a prior DUI. Lathrop PD noted that recent rainy weather created hazardous driving conditions throughout the area.
Following her arrest, Castellon was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. The Lathrop Police Department has since reiterated a call for vigilance on the roads, urging drivers to slow down, stay alert, and make responsible choices behind the wheel.
