The documents call for work to start January 18 and describe a 2,800-square-foot conversion of grey-shell space. Per What Now, the filing projects construction could finish by April 26, while also noting that the timeline is not set in stone.
Local Franchisee Will Helm The Outpost
Chance Steed, who previously brought Cheba Hut to Fort Worth and already runs the 8th Avenue location, is listed as the franchisee for the new North Freeway spot. Earlier coverage of Steed’s openings has tracked his role in growing the brand in North Texas. Fort Worth Magazine profiled him when the 8th Avenue shop launched and highlighted his local ties.
Menu, Size And Vibe
Cheba Hut builds its concept around more than 30 signature toasted subs, plus a lineup of sides and desserts, and at many locations a craft-beer bar aimed at the evening crowd. The company’s website describes the operation as pairing “homegrown food with real people in a relaxed environment,” a laid-back aesthetic that typically shows up in mural-covered interiors and late-night hours. Part Of A DFW Expansion
The North Freeway plan slots into a broader wave of openings around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Community Impact reported on a Cheba Hut opening in McKinney late last year, and other DFW locations have landed in Arlington, Denton and Mansfield over the past few seasons. Community Impact notes that the brand is actively expanding in suburban North Texas.
For now, state filings are the main public record tying Cheba Hut to the North Freeway suite, and the chain’s official locations list does not yet include the new address. Cheba Hut lists existing DFW shops on its online locations pages, while What Now tracks area stores as well, but neither has posted an official opening announcement for the North Freeway storefront.
