The new year announcement brought quiet streets and closed doors across Summit County, Utah, with county offices and library branches pausing to mark the start of 2026. In a social media post by Summit County filled with the usual celebratory wishes, the county informed residents of the closures, clarifying that regular hours would resume the following day.
