In a recent update from the Metropolitan Police Department, an arrest has been made in connection to the Pennsylvania Avenue homicide from late last year. The incident, which claimed the life of 23-year-old Dennis Ziegler, occurred in the early hours of a cold December morning.
Police responded to a shooting report on Sunday, December 21, 2025, around 6:03 a.m. in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. Ziegler was found in a dire state, suffering from a gunshot wound. According to the police report, despite the rapid response of DC Fire and EMS and their subsequent efforts, Ziegler later died at the hospital.
Earlier today, 19-year-old Kevin William Dorsey Jr. of Northeast D.C. was arrested as a suspect in the case. The arrest, carried out by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, was executed under a DC Superior Court arrest warrant and Dorsey Jr. was charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.
