Vancouver law enforcement officials have apprehended a suspect in connection with a recent shooting at a local sports bar. Jared D. Taylor, 28, turned himself in at the Vancouver Police Department West Precinct and was arrested on charges including Murder II and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, as confirmed by the city's official press release. Taylor is currently being held at the Clark County Jail, with the investigation by the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit ongoing.
The incident took place on January 3, around 12:50 a.m., at the Off-Ramp Sports Bar located at 400 NE 112th Avenue. Patrons of the bar witnessed a confrontation between two males, which quickly escalated outside. It was shortly after that shots were heard. Police, responding to the call, found a 43-year-old male victim deceased in the parking lot. The identity of the victim has yet to be released pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Vancouver Police Department, there is no ongoing threat to the public. This assurance stems from the fact that the suspect has been taken into custody and that this appears to be an isolated incident. However, the department has not elaborated further on the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the arrest of Taylor.
