A two-story garden-style apartment building was engulfed in fire today in the Del Rey neighborhood of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the first arriving engine observed fire blazing from the second floor of the structure at 11505 W Bradson Place.
According to an LAFD alert, firefighters were engaged in an offensive attack to battle the flames. The call came in at 11:55 AM, and fire services from Station 62, alongside other units, responded to the scene.
Efficient work from the responding team led to a swift extinguishment of the blaze within 16 minutes. The knockdown was confirmed by the LAFD, who reported that 35 firefighters controlled the second-story fire without any injuries to civilians or LAFD personnel. The update highlighted that the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The incident, which occurred at 5035 S Slauson Avenue—as erroneously listed in the initial alert—did not result in any further incidents requiring action from the fire department. "Nothing further," the LAFD statement concluded, signaling the close of the incident. Firefighting resources included a task force and rescue ambulances.
