Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a significant structure fire last night at a single-story residence on the 8500 block of N. Branch Avenue, according to Tampa Fire Rescue's Post. Heavy smoke and flames were visible through the roof when Engine 11 arrived on scene.
Firefighters maintained a defensive position due to structural instability, downed power lines, and rapidly changing fire conditions. Teams brought the blaze under control within 25 minutes, according to Tampa Fire Rescue’s social media post.
A thorough search of the premises followed the blaze, with crews completing both primary and secondary searches of the property. Fortunately, no occupants were found inside, and there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians reported at the scene. The fire's cause is currently under investigation, with authorities from the Tampa Fire Marshal's office taking the lead to determine the origins of this event.
Tampa Fire Rescue credited the successful management of the fire to the coordinated efforts of multiple teams. “Good job to the crews of Engine 11, 13, 24 and 7, Truck 13, Rescue 250 and 251, District 1 and 4, Vent 1 and IV2,” the Tampa Fire Rescue posted on social media.
