The iconic Old City Hall in Tampa will shine with varying hues in January, turning its facade into a canvas of solidarity and celebration for different causes and organizations, the City of Tampa divulged in a recent social media post. The masonry will be bathed in the patriotic red, white, and blue to ring in the New Year, dovetailing into the crimson glow for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday and Sunday, a nod to the city's home team.
Amidst these displays of festivity and tribute, the city hall will also observe Blue for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day next Friday, transitioning to the same hue next Sunday to bring awareness to the menace of human trafficking, a somber recollection that amidst our revels there are battles fought in the mundane and the profane against threats often cloaked in plain sight. The latter part of the month, January 25-31, has been reserved to cast a symbolic light for National School Choice Week, the building will glow in alternating yellow and red, indicative of the week's signature colors and the ongoing conversation around education and parent's directions in the schooling of their children.
