
A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with a December shooting at Whistle Stop Park in Edgewater, the Edgewater Police Department confirmed. The shooting, which took place on Dec. 21, 2025, involved the teen allegedly discharging a firearm in the park and firing into an occupied vehicle.
Following a thorough investigation by Edgewater police, the teen was arrested, and charges against him include discharging a firearm in public, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and violating probation. Despite initial challenges in identifying the suspect after the incident, the arrest came after a call for public assistance to identify two individuals of interest seen at the park between noon and 12:30 p.m. on the day of the shooting, according to a report by WESH.
The suspect has since been transported to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, awaiting court proceedings, as reported by WFTV.
