Texan Tea is gearing up to pour a lot more sweet stuff in New Braunfels, with a second drive thru planned for 2286 Alyssa Way. Owner Jodi Zellner is aiming for a spring opening, with construction expected to kick off in March. The family run window, which started on the IH 35 corridor in 2020, will stick strictly to drinks, serving tea, lemonade and water instead of adding food. State filings outline about 1,145 square feet of interior finish out and a target completion around mid September.
Permit Confirms Timeline And Scope
A project registration on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's TABS portal lists "Texan Tea #2" at 2286 Alyssa Way with a March 9, 2026 start date and a Sept. 25, 2026 completion target for a $150,000, 1,145 square foot build out, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. What Now San Antonio also reported that Zellner expects a public opening in April or May and described the concept as an easy, grab and go option for families.
Local Roots And Flavors
Texan Tea traces its start to 2020 and operates a drive thru at 580 S. Business IH 35, where customers have gravitated toward flavors such as Coconut Sweets and Sweet Peach, according to Texan Tea. Community Impact covered the shop's soft opening at the IH 35 window in late December 2022 and highlighted the brand's focus on convenience and local outreach, providing the backdrop for this latest expansion; see Community Impact for more detail.
What The New Location Will Offer
Zellner told What Now San Antonio she chose the Alyssa Way site because it is on the opposite side of town and "was an easy yes," and she emphasized the operation will remain focused on quick drinks for shoppers and families. The TDLR record also lists Juniper Ventures of Texas LLC as the owner and names Deryck Zellner as the tenant, indicating the project is privately funded and tied to local developers and the Texan Tea team.
