Elon Musk’s Boring Company has introduced a new service transporting passengers above ground from the Vegas Loop to Harry Reid International Airport. Currently operating in limited capacity, the service allows travelers to begin their journey underground and continue on surface streets to reach the airport. According to a social media announcement from The Boring Company, the Nevada Transportation Authority approved the service in October 2025. Rides to the airport are available from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. at a cost of $12 per person.

The above-ground service is a temporary measure while the company’s airport tunnels are still under construction. Once finished, airport trips are expected to be fully underground, with completion anticipated this year. Meanwhile, some rideshare drivers have expressed concerns that the new service could reduce their business by diverting passengers away from street pickups, as per 8 News Now.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, The Boring Company received a permit from the Clark County Department of Aviation allowing Vegas Loop drop-offs at the airport’s departures curb. Vehicles will be equipped with transponders, after which airport pick-ups will also begin, with designated areas on the Zero Level of Terminals 1 and 3.

The launch of the service coincides with CES, the international consumer electronics show, which is expected to draw large crowds to Las Vegas. In addition to airport transport, The Boring Company has completed over 10 miles of tunnels, with approximately 4 miles currently operational. Fares are $12 for rides between Resorts World Las Vegas or Westgate and the airport terminals, and $4.25 for a loop ride between Westgate and Resorts World. The Vegas Loop, which now includes multiple stops such as the Las Vegas Convention Center, plans to expand to future stops at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and near the Sphere.
