A 52-year-old Las Vegas man formerly of Northborough, Massachusetts has pleaded guilty to federal drug and firearms charges tied to an anabolic steroid and methamphetamine trafficking operation. Mark Taslakian admitted to conspiring to distribute large quantities of anabolic steroids and methamphetamine, possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and anabolic steroids with intent to distribute, and illegally possessing seven firearms as a convicted felon.
Guilty Pleas Entered in Worcester Federal Court
Taslakian entered his guilty pleas on September 10 in federal court in Worcester, according to federal prosecutors as reported by FOX5 Vegas. Court documents cited by the station describe how Taslakian came up with the idea of marketing and distributing an anabolic steroid brand called Nex-Gen Pharma, with plans to order multi-kilogram quantities of raw steroid powders from China and synthesize them into injectable and oral products.
The case includes a federal investigation in Massachusetts. According to federal court documents examined by CaseMine, the probe into the illegal steroid and Human Growth Hormone distribution network was run jointly by Drug Enforcement Administration special agents and U.S. Postal Inspection Service inspectors. That investigation eventually led agents to Taslakian's door.
Raid on Northborough Home Turned Up Cash, Gold and Guns
The case included a search of Taslakian's former home in Northborough.
What they found inside was extensive. According to court documents cited by FOX5 Vegas, authorities seized more than $500,000 in cash, anabolic steroids, methamphetamine, packaging materials and ledgers, jewelry, a gold bar, and seven firearms tucked away in a basement safe.
Suppression Motion Rejected, Cooperators Named Him
Taslakian's defense later tried to keep that evidence out of court. Court records show that in June 2025, U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman denied Taslakian's motion to suppress the evidence seized from his Northborough home, ruling that the underlying DEA affidavit had established sufficient probable cause, the same court records note. Two cooperating co-conspirators had also provided statements identifying Taslakian to federal agents, corroborating surveillance that observed drug sales at his home involving Nex-Gen-labeled steroids, according to the filings.
Judge Guzman, who is set to preside over sentencing, has scheduled that hearing for January 11, 2027. She previously presided over a Worcester federal court guilty plea in a separate cocaine distribution case out of Southbridge.
What Taslakian Faces at Sentencing
The charge of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and anabolic steroids was among the federal charges to which Taslakian pleaded guilty.
The anabolic-steroid conspiracy count and the felon-in-possession firearm charge were also among the federal charges to which Taslakian pleaded guilty.
