On Saturday afternoon, a chaotic scene unfolded in Canoga Park as a vehicle plowed into the front of a barber shop, sending three individuals to the hospital. The incident occurred at 1:45 p.m. at the address of 7138 N. Shoup Ave, according to a report by MyNewsLA.com. Fire department units and emergency medical responders quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and tend to the victims.
Among the injured were two adult men, aged 35 and 30, who sustained serious injuries during the crash. The Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton stated that the 30-year-old man had stable vital signs, whilst details on the 35-year-old's condition were not immediately provided. A 15-year-old boy was also transported to the hospital, fortunately with only minor injuries, as reported by LAFD.
Following their arrival and aid to the victims, firefighters worked to extract the vehicle from its unintended resting place amongst the barber's chairs and mirrors. Once removed, an inspector from the LA Department of Building and Safety was called to evaluate both the damage caused by the crash and the structural integrity of the building.
The Los Angeles Fire Department, led by Battalion 17, coordinated the emergency response involving multiple engine companies, rescue ambulances, and an urban search and rescue unit. The LAFD confirmed that there were no injuries among their ranks during the operation, as the strategic rescue concluded successfully. "The vehicle which entered the store front (barber shop) was successfully removed by LAFD," Jennifer Middleton conveyed in a statement shared by LAFD.
