Two residents of Toccoa have been arrested in connection with an alleged methamphetamine trafficking operation between Atlanta and Stephens County. The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office reported that Adam Greeson, 37, and Shandar Ivester, 41, were taken into custody last Thursday following a routine traffic stop on North Hill Street in Toccoa.
According to a report by AccessWDUN, the sheriff’s office received multiple tips regarding Greeson’s suspected involvement in methamphetamine distribution, prompting investigators to monitor his activities. Authorities stated they observed Greeson traveling to the metro Atlanta area, where he was believed to obtain large quantities of methamphetamine for distribution in the area. Deputies later identified Greeson’s vehicle returning from one of these trips last week and conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrests.
During the traffic stop, a sheriff’s office K9 unit alerted to the vehicle, prompting a search. FOX 5 Atlanta reported that the search uncovered approximately 2.15 ounces of methamphetamine and additional drug-related paraphernalia. Ivester was also taken into custody at the scene after allegedly providing deputies with a false name.
In a statement from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, investigators stated that Greeson was traveling to the metro Atlanta area to obtain large quantities of a controlled substance and transport them to Stephens County for distribution. Following their arrests, both individuals were booked into the Stephens County Jail, where a judge denied bond last Friday. Greeson and Ivester are facing charges of methamphetamine trafficking and other related offenses.
